Welcome to Oak House!
Tradition & Togetherness
Run by Grace Morrow and Hermione Morrow
House Pet(s): a golden retriever named Biscuit and a flock of hens (Hazel, Poppy, Juniper, Mabel, and Daisy)
The staff and residents of Oak House believe that the strongest families are built through shared traditions, mutual responsibility, and time spent together. Here, staff place a strong emphasis on honesty, dependability, and taking pride in even the smallest daily tasks, teaching youngsters that meaningful contributions to the household benefit everyone. Residents are encouraged to help tend the vegetable garden, care for the chickens, harvest fruit from the orchard, and participate in family routines that reinforce cooperation and stewardship. Through these experiences, children and adolescents learn that hard work, consistency, and caring for others are just as important as personal achievement.
As with the other homes in the Orphan Village, screentime is strictly limited to encourage residents to engage more fully with the people and environment around them. Instead, youngsters living in Oak House are often found walking the woodland trail, relaxing on the wraparound porch, gathering around the fire pit, or working alongside staff and friends in the gardens and orchard before sharing a meal together at the end of the day. At Oak House, traditions are cherished, responsibilities are shared, and staff and residents become a family that values loyalty, generosity, and the simple joy of building a home together.
